Dr. Roth received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society and graduated with high honors. In 1981, he completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, going on to complete his Internal Medicine residency program at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. His gastroenterology fellowship was completed at the University of Connecticut in 1986. Dr. Roth is an attending physician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. He is the former Chief of Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital and former Chief of Gastroenterology at Passaic General Hospital. Dr. Roth has received both the Castle Connolly award for “Top Doctors” and the New Jersey Monthly “Top Doctors” designation on multiple occasions. Dr. Roth has special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening, and acid peptic disease. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family and is an avid skier and tennis player.
